Normally, windows serve functional purposes: they allow the passage of light and allow the inhabitant to see the outside world. We suggest that windows can be more. Windows and glass walls can be used as a place for interactive art, as a central design element or as an information display. Therefore we created the Interactive Window — an artificial creature/flower that lives in the window and that reacts to people inside the room, to the world on the other side of window and also to the virtual world.
The interactive window was realized by Zane Kripe, Joey van der Bie and Hanna Schraffenberger in the course of the Media Technology MSc programme at Leiden University.
